Indian Pharmaceutical Association acknowledges the Research of Dr. B. K. Shridhar, Professor, Parul Institute of Pharmacy by awarding Prof. M. L. Khunrana Memorial IJPS Best Research Paper Award in Pharmaceutics & Bio-Pharmaceutics to him.
The Indian Society for Technical Education is a national, professional,
non-profit making Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860.
First started in 1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions
(APTI), it was converted into "Indian Society for Technical Education" in 1968 with
a view to enlarge its activities to advance the cause of technological education
.The major objective of the ISTE is to assist and contribute in the production and
development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the
industries and other organizations. Being the only national organization of educators
in the field of Engineering and Technology, ISTE effectively contributes in various
missions of the Union Government. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, CTE/DST/MIT/State
Govts are well associated with the ISTE for programs relating to technical education.
Parul Group of Institutes is an active member of ISTE & IETE student
and faculty chapters.
Parul Institute of Engineering and Technology had been awarded the
best ISTE Faculty Chapter Award amongst the chapters in Gujarat Section in the year
of 2008. Again successively in the year 2010 and 2011, Parul Institute of Engineering
& Technology fetched the ISTE Best Students Chapter Award.
Society for Research & Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions
(SRISTI) Confirmed Gnadhian Young Technological Award to
Dr. Prafulla M. Sabale, Professor, Parul Institute of Pharmacy, Limda, Vadodara.
SRISTI organized national level competition Gnadhian Young
Technological Award for young scientist and researcher in the field of engineering
and technology for their innovations in their respective area of interest. More
than five thousands participants were registered their innovations. Out of these
participants, fourteen inventors have been awarded under three different categories.
Dr. Prafulla M. Sabale, Professor at Parul Institute of Pharmacy, Limda, Vadodara
received Gnadhian Young Technological Award under SRISTI Technological Edge
Award category for his research work titled: "Design, Synthesis & Evaluation
of Novel Steroidal Aromatase Inhibitors in Breast Cancer". The work
was focused on to development of more potent & efficient inhibition of the aromatase
enzyme by blocking the substrate site in enzyme, binds with heme and also interacts
with amino acid residues in vicinity of heme. The designed molecule featured with
steroidal and non-steroidal pharmacophores essential for improved Aromatase inhibitory
activity in breast cancer.
The Gnadhian Young Technological Award in the first national innovation competition
was given by the hands of Padmabhushan Dr. R.A.Mashelkar, President Global research
alliance and Chairman National Innovation Foundation-India, held at Indian institute
of Management, Ahmedabad on 5th April, 2012. The function was graced with presence
of Dr. Anil Gupta, Director, IIM-A, Dr Sudershan Iyangar, Vice Chancellor Gujarat
University, Ahmadabad, Dr. Akashay Agrawal, Vice Chancellor Gujarat Technological
GTU Innovation Council is the 1st large scale innovation ecosystem which has tried to introduce the culture of innovation all across the university and in its associated ecosystem during the past 2 years. Innovation system at such a large scale and wide depth has never been attempted anywhere else in the world. All stakeholders have put in a considerable amount of efforts in making it happen under the leadership of Honorable VC, GTU, Dr. Akshai Aggarwal. To recognize the work at an individual and institutional level, GTU Innovation Council decided to honour all those contributors during GTU Innovation Sankul Day on 14th of February, 2013 at Ahmedabad.
It was felt that learning from these innovative measures will not only inspire more than 17,000 faculties within GTU but also thousands of those from all other universities across the nation. GTU is confident that these policy innovations and efforts will be the next generation practices within academia for fostering innovation at all other Universities.

The Award Ceremony was held at Paryavaran Mandir, Naroda Environment Pvt. Ltd. Padmashree Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Architect - PARAM series of Supercomputer , was the Chief Guest of the ‘Pedagogical Innovation Awards-2013’. The other dignitaries were Swami Sarvasthananda, RKM; Prof Akshai Aggarwal, Hon' VC, GTU; Mr. David Hamilton, Consulate General, Canada and others.
Four awards were received by the Parul Group of Institutes, at individual & institutional levels, for the Excellence in their innovations: Prof. Yash Chawla, Dept. of Mechanical Engg-PIET; Dr. Vilin Parekh, Principal- PIET, Dr.S.F.Xavier, Director (R&D) and Dr. Devanshu J. Patel, Managing Trustee, PASM, all from Vadodara Sankul-2.
